![]() Avoid a bad moving company and a negative moving experience by conducting research and following your gut instinct. Sadly, the moving industry is full of red-flag movers who bill themselves as professional moving companies but who are just the opposite, which may result in lost or damaged belongings. Research before your moveĭoing research prior to your cross-country move date helps to avoid bad movers, moving scams, and shady bait-and-switch tactics from moving brokers who offer moving services but don’t deliver on their promises. If you’d like more information on either company, check out this Zippy Shell review and this PODS review from real-life customers. Read on for a comprehensive comparison of Zippy Shell versus PODS. Overall, we feel that movers would be in better hands with PODS. Once you’ve chosen a container, you can load up your household goods into whichever container you choose using packing materials and either your own labor or a professional moving company/full-service movers.ĭuring our comparison research, we found a few negative experiences with Zippy Shell’s customer service, as demonstrated by Michelle’s moving experience with Zippy Shell. PODS offers three different portable storage unit sizes that clock in at 8 feet, 12 feet, and 16 feet long, so you’re more likely to find a PODS container that suits your needs. Zippy Shell advertises two container sizes , 10 feet and 15 feet. This time sensitivity could add to the pressure of your moving experience. Zippy Shell, on the other hand, only allows containers to stay on your property for up to three days. That means you can take your time to pack and unpack the containers. While both companies offer storage solutions that can help minimize your moving stress, PODS is more flexible because you can keep the containers on your property (and store them there, instead of in a storage facility) for as long as you want to. They’re then transported to your new address, where you can unpack it yourself or hire professional movers or a moving company to unpack for you. Both companies allow you to rent a container (or multiple containers), which are delivered to your property for you to pack your household goods if you’re going the DIY route. ![]() Zippy Shell and PODS are both container moving companies with similar business models. Are you considering using portable on-demand storage for your move? Be sure to check out our list of the best moving container companies. Overall Opinion: While Zippy Shell and PODS offer similar services, we think PODS are superior to Zippy Shell thanks to PODS’ flexible packing and unpacking options, greater variety of container sizes, and better customer service. ![]()

The Caballero, apart from having distinct trims, was largely the same as El Camino and therefore made somewhat little sense to customers at that time. GMC’s car-pickup amalgam underwent minor upgrades over the years till it got scrapped by GM in 1987. Just like the El Camino, the "Caballero" name was also derived from Spanish and translated into "knight". The rebadged GMC Caballero made its way to the showrooms in late 1977. Tracing its roots to the early 70s, the GMC Caballero was earlier known as the GMC Sprint. The GMC Caballero didn’t enjoy as rich a history as its sibling and many today are still unaware of its existence due to its late entry and low sales figures. GMC Caballero History: Design, Production, & Features The LS6 454 cubic inch V8-equipped El Camino of 1970 is truly the rarest breed, having power output rated up to 450 hp. The subsequent third, fourth, and fifth generations saw many changes, the most notable of which was the inclusion of anti-pollution components that dramatically reduced the output of all the powertrains including those of the V8s. The 327 cubic-inch small-block V8 was modified for the performance SS-version where it produced a mighty 350 hp. The car/pickup hybrid made another entry in 1964, this time, on the new platform of Chevelle and with some significant upgrades including the optional V8 powertrains. Sadly, the first generation’s reign lasted only two years after which it got scrapped due to being uncompetitive. Based on the Impala platform, the first generation remained true to the American custom of extravagant dimensions and huge rear fins. The “El Camino” name was Spanish in its roots and meant “the way”. The first iteration of the Chevy El Camino made its way to the American roads in 1958 which was largely a hasty and unplanned response to the Ford Ranchero coupe utility. Most woodworkers leave birds eye maple in its natural state or simply apply a clear coat to allow the natural beauty to shine through. It’s believed only 1% of maple trees possess the birds eye pattern and, unlike other types of figured woods, people have not been able to intentionally create or kick start the process which results in the pattern. In these cases, unfavorable growing conditions are thought to halt the process, leaving behind tiny knots which grow with the tree. There remains some debate as to what causes these unique markings, though the most prevalent theory is that they’re the result of the tree starting the process of developing new shoots.
